What Is a Poker Odds Calculator?

A poker odds calculator works out your equity — the share of the pot you can expect to win on average — for any Texas Hold'em situation. Pick your two hole cards, add any community cards, and the calculator above deals 25,000 random runouts to show your win, tie, and equity percentages against up to five opponents. It also tells you whether calling a bet is profitable, by comparing your equity with the pot odds you're being offered.

How Do You Use This Odds Calculator?

1. Pick your hand. Click the two "Your hand" slots, then choose your cards from the deck grid.
2. Add the board and opponents (optional). Fill in flop, turn, or river cards as they arrive, and set how many opponents you're facing — assign them exact cards if you know or suspect them.

What Are Your Drawing Odds After the Flop?

How Do Pot Odds Work?

Pot odds compare the price of a call with what's already in the pot. Your break-even equity is call ÷ (pot + call). Example: the pot is $100 and you face a $25 bet — you need 25 ÷ 125 = 20% equity to call profitably. A flush draw on the flop (35%) is an easy call at that price; a gutshot (16.5%) is a fold. It simulates 25,000 random deals per calculation with a full 7-card hand evaluator, which keeps results within about ±0.5 percentage points of the exact figure. When every card is known (a complete board and all hole cards), the result is exact.

What are the odds of flopping a set with a pocket pair?

About 11.8%, or roughly 1 in 8.5. That's why the standard advice is to "set-mine" only when the potential payoff is large relative to the price of seeing the flop.

What are the odds of hitting a flush draw?

With a flush draw on the flop you have 9 outs: about a 35% chance of completing the flush by the river, or 19% on the very next card.

What is the best starting hand in Texas Hold'em?

Pocket aces (AA). Against a single random hand, aces win about 85% of the time — you can verify it in the calculator above by giving yourself AA and leaving your opponent on a random hand.

What is equity in poker?

Equity is your rightful share of the pot based on your current chance of winning. If the pot is $200 and you have 30% equity, your share is worth $60 on average. Comparing equity with the price of a call is the basis of every profitable poker decision.
